As part of the internationalization process of the Intersismet Group, in February 2014 Intersismet Asia was established, based in Dili, East Timor.
Intersismet Asia aims to extend the activity of Intersismet to Asia, strengthening the international nature of the Group and investing in its core market: the Portuguese-speaking market. After Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe, the company now reaches East Timor.
The creation of Intersismet Asia occurs naturally , as a result of serious and repeated bets that have been made in the East Timor market: in June 2013, the company held in Dili a Workshop on “Organization and Modernization of Local Public Administration”, which was attended by senior government officials; later that year, the company, in consortium with Quaternaire Portugal, participated in the International Public Tender for the preparation of Spatial Planning for East Timor, being its proposal ranked first, in January 2014.
In February – the manager Guilherme Dray went to Timor to negotiate the contract, which is about to be signed.
The contract amounts to over USD 1 million and the project is expected to last 6 months.
Other proposals, requested by Timorese authorities are still under consideration, these connected to the administrative decentralization process that was recently launched by the government of East Timor.
The presence of the Intersismet Group in East Timor comes therefore within the strategy set by the company, focused on creating a reference consulting company in the Portuguese-speaking space, especially suited to work in the field of administrative modernization.
The administration of Intersismet Asia and its shareholders and employees expect, in this way, to contribute to the sustainable development of East Timor and to assert this country, which is in the process of affirming its democracy and independence, recently conquered.
